Hot-Dip Continuous

Galvanized sheet production in this line uses the Continuous Hot-Dip is performed. This method's advantage over other processes is four key characteristics shown below.

The final sheet comprises Four Layers : base steel, zinc, chromate and a protective oil layer. This structure makes the sheet highly resistant to corrosion, scratching, white rust and abrasion.

Coil Entry

Entry & Welding

Raw cold-rolled coils enter the line and are joined together to form a continuous strip.

Entry Accumulator

Entry Accumulator

To maintain a constant speed in the process zone, the sheet is stored in a large vertical accumulator.

Main Washing

Main Cleaning

The sheet must be completely clean before entering the furnace; even the smallest contamination impairs zinc adhesion.

Annealing Furnace

Annealing Furnace

The sheet is heated to a high temperature in a vertical furnace with a protective atmosphere to recrystallize the steel structure and control its hardness.

Molten Zinc Bath

Zinc Pot & Jet Wipping

The heart of the process: the sheet continuously passes through molten zinc at 450°C, with both surfaces coated with a zinc layer.

Cooling & Spangle Control

Cooling & Spangle Control

Shapes the cooling rate of the 'flowers' or spangles on the surface; these patterns are the quality hallmark of galvanizing.

Skin Pass & Chromate Coating

Skin Pass & Chromate

The sheet is leveled, coating thickness is measured and a thin chemical layer prevents corrosion and white rust during storage.

Inspection & Packaging

Inspection & Packing

Before exit, the sheet passes under the watchful eyes of operators and control systems, and is oiled if necessary.
